Summary

Neobux.com - A PTC website which maintains a leading position in the PTC Industry for over Four years now; there is no other PTC website present that has reached the same popularity as Neobux. The amount of payments and users grow everyday. As from 25 June 2012, Neobux has paid its members 76 million US dollars.
Neobux was traditionally classified as a bux site, but since the inception of the new advertisement changes on 13 March 2011 Neobux has evolved into a hybrid PTC model - a combination of a bux, PTC and mini-PTC site (for further information read this). Bux sites generally display self-sponsored ads, and depend on upgrades and rentals to pay its members for viewing those self-sponsored ads. This is the main reason why most bux sites fail and turn scam. Neobux has never ever relied on rentals and upgrades, and therefore has successfully managed to remain up and running as apposed to other bux sites that generally turn scam within 6 months of opening. While many people have previously viewed Neobux as a full bux site the Neobux Admin has repeatedly maintained that Neobux has always been a PTC site; as quoted from an authenticated interview (click here) that was released on 14 August 2011: "NeoBux has always been a PTC website. We never changed our business model, but we did changes (and we will continue to do so) which are welcomed improvements/additions for our users and advertisers ... NeoBux doesn’t differ from that as it’s a PTC underneath with lots of tweaks and additions. The so called “Bux” model is what people refer to the failed attempts to mimic us and that model has many variables which don’t exist in our DNA thus our continued success and their eminent short life ... The only “Bux” part we have is actually in our name."

Prior to 13 March 2011 Neobux displayed a minimum of 4 guaranteed self-sponsored ads daily, while adverts from real advertisers were displayed on a random basis. The current system now allows adverts from real advertisers to be displayed as guaranteed or fixed ads (click here). Combined with the reduction in advertising prices, adverts from real advertisers now feature more predominantly over the self-sponsored ads, thus giving advertisers better exposure. 

In addition to keeping advertisers happy, Neobux is aiming to be an even more unique PTC site than what it already is. When Neobux was launched 3 years ago on 25 March 2008, Neobux revolutionised the PTC Industry by introducing the Rent-a-Ref System and Instant Payments. Against all odds Neobux has managed to survive this fickle industry and become the leader, but in the process, many PTC-wannabe owners copied the Neobux model and destroyed the idea of what a PTC website should represent by introducing bots into the rental system, etc. Many were motivated by greed, only to simply make a quick buck for themselves and in turn generate one scam after another. Neobux is now aiming to restore the reputation of the PTC Industry by revolutionising the PTC Industry once again. Neobux was initially developed as a "proof-of-concept: Creating something new, that works, and that others can use the same way". The ultimate vision of the Neobux Admin is to create an industry standard for other PTC sites to follow and influence a new generation of PTC sites who are proud to be called a PTC site: Professional, serious or credible, sustainable, innovative, and caring towards its users. Despite the current shambles the PTC Industry is in, by the end of 2011 some of the changes implemented by Neobux have now been effected on other PTC sites (e.g. Micro Ads), a small but positive step towards that ever elusive vision.

To move away from the erroneous "bux" model in which Neobux was previously classified, and breaking boundaries of what a PTC site should actually be, the Neobux Admin has introduced a new concept or theme: "More simplicity with more earnings for everyone" (see here). With this new PTC model in mind, Neobux plans to develop into a PTC site that:
1. Requires less and less investment (rentals, memberships), eventually requiring little or none. The end result is an exponential increase in earnings for little or no investment especially for PTC users who have no desire to rent referrals.
2. Provides excellent quality advertising at a lower cost service with higher impressions or exposures.


This process began slowly with the introduction of NeoPoints in March 2011. On 15 January 2012, AdPrize (click here) was unveiled marking the official birth of this new revolution, a revolution which will span over a period of 5 years (2012 - 2017).


Please note:
  • You can invite direct referrals to the website only when you have made 100 clicks and have been a member for at least 15 FULL days.
  • To be able to buy Golden Membership you need: 50 clicks and be a member of Neobux for at least 15 days. 
  • You cannot buy Golden Membership from your Rental Balance. History

Early History

Neobux started its pre-launch / pre-registration phase on March 25, 2008. At the beginning people could only invite referrals and communicate on the forum. Those who registered during the pre-launch phase got Pioneer status. The official opening was on April 30, 2008.
A short summary of how Neobux developed early on in 2008:


  • March 31, 2008 - The option to buy clicks for your advertisements and the ability to upgrade to Golden Membership was added. The price for Golden Membership in the pre-launch phase was $30.
  • April 8, 2008 - A poll was generated and requested Neobux users to vote. Over 90% of users said "YES" to increase the minimum to cashout by $1 with each cashout requested (up to $10). The poll was closed on 12 April and the rule was implemented.
  • April 17, 2008 - There were already 19054 members on Neobux and 75 confirmed Golden Members.  
  • April 19, 2008 - Admin had announced that Neobux will offer instant cashouts (it was stated in the TOS before that it will take up to 48 hours to receive payments).
  • April 30, 2008 - Neobux.com officially opened on April, 30 20:00 GMT.
  • May 3, 2008 - The option of renting referrals was added. The Rent-A-Ref System revolutionised the PTC Industry along with Instant Payments. The Golden upgrade price increased to $60.
  • May 17, 2008 - Admin added a red dot for people to click when clicking on their advertisements, as there were a lot of members using autoclickers.
On 8 October 2008 Neobux's Paypal Account was limited (see here). Members were asked to donate funds and eventually Paypal was reinstated. Neobux still continues to provide instant payments to this day.

  •  January 3, 2011 - Neobux becomes available in German.
  • February 12, 2011 - Neobux is over 1000 days old!
  • February 14, 2011 - Provisional results show that Micro Exposure Advertisements are great for both advertisers and Neobux users who view the ads.
  • March 25, 2011 - $41 million paid to Neobux Members over a period of 3 years.
  • June 7, 2011 - Neobux becomes available in Indonesian.
  • July 22, 2011 - Neobux reaches another new milestone: $50 million paid to its members.
  • August 12, 2011 - Prices for Fixed Ads are reduced by 40 to 55% and become available to the public; in the past a Support Ticket was required to find out about the prices for Fixed Ads, however one still needs to send a Support Ticket in order to complete the final purchase.   • November 8, 2011 - Neobux launches an official G+ page (similar to Twitter alerts).
  • November 11, 2011 - Prices for purple Fixed Ads are reduced by up to 23% (no official announcement).
  • December 12, 2011 - New milestone reached: AdAlert has been downloaded by 1 million unique users.

While 2010 saw Neobux having the most profitable year ever, 2011 exceeded 2010 as being the most profitable year not only for Neobux but for its users as well. By December 2011 already $60 million had been paid to Neobux Members over a span of 4 years. In the last 9 months of 2011 a total $20 million cashouts were made.

Current Changes and Achievements for 2012

  • January 1, 2012 - For the first time ever in Neobux history activity during the Christmas holidays and on New Year's Eve did not drop as compared to previous years.
  • January 15, 2012 - AdPrize (click here) is introduced, a new concept where PTC users have a chance to earn multiple prizes (NeoPoints, cash prizes and Golden Memberships) by being active, with advertisers simultaneously receiving 2x to 16x extra visualisations depending on the ad package purchased. The more ads you click the greater your chances of earning a prize.
  • January 17, 2012 - AdPrize exceeded Neobux's expectations; consequently more AdPrize credits / visualisations have been assigned to the click packs.
  • January 23, 2012:
    1. Final changes implemented for AdPrize; more prizes have been allocated in addition to the extra ad credits (click here).
    2. Paypal increases their mass payment fees for merchants, which affects Neobux Members who cashout with Paypal. For more details, read here.
  • January 27, 2012 - The rented referral distribution process is disrupted due to AdPrize. Due to the unanticipated success of AdPrize a higher number of users have started to rent referrals, resulting in a shortage of Rented Referrals. The situation is expected to stabilise within a few weeks due to the exponential rise in new registrations as a consequence of AdPrize (click here).
  • February 1, 2012 - Neobux introduces NeoPoints Offers: Members can earn NeoPoints by completing offers (beta or trial phase). Offers include tasks, cellphone submits, surveys, downloads, watch videos, etc.
  • February 2, 2012 - Neobux introduces NeoCoins, a virtual currency which can be converted to cash in the Main Balance; members can earn NeoCoins by completing offers (beta or trial phase).
  • February 5, 2012 - NeoPoints can longer be converted to funds in the Rental Balance. Currently this is the best available solution to stabilise the rented referral distribution process without affecting users in negative way. Read here.
  • February 20, 2012 - Due to the continual increase in the number of users participating in AdPrize, Adprize chances and prizes have increased by 50%. The number of AdPrize visualisations for Fixed Ads has also increased.
  • February 27, 2012 - Beta testing completed; NeoPoint Offers/Coins become fully available to all Neobux Members.
  • March 25, 2012 - Neobux celebrates its 4th year anniversary (click here).
  • April 14, 2012 - AdPrize reaches a milestone: $1,000,000 in prizes awarded to Neobux users. Advertisers are also happier than ever: They receive reduced cost per exposure and the advertising results are better with the non-unique exposures compared to the 24-hour unique exposures.
  • April 30, 2012 - Today marks the official birthday of Neobux. Neobux enters its 5th year of being online (click here).
  • May 15, 2012:
    1. New Neobux Members no longer need to wait 30 days before recruiting direct referrals: The new limit is now 15 days.
    2. NeoCoin Offers will now be credited after 30 days instead of 60 days.
    3. Golden Pack Holders have unlimited vacation days (previously 30 vacation days) i.e. Golden Pack Holders no longer have to follow Terms of Service 3.7.

I'm a Golden Member. What happens if I win a Golden Membership?
If you're already a Golden Member one more year will be added to your membership's expiration date. If you're not, you will be upgraded for a full year when you win the prize.

Why aren't referrals given as a prize?
When we held the rented referrals jackpot years ago things were different because availability met demand and a portion could in fact be offered. Although we currently still have referrals available to satisfy most of our users, getting direct referrals is an extremely expensive and exhaustive thing for us. Not only due to the fact that we purchase users' direct referrals but also due to all the advertising campaigns we need to do to get new unreferred members and then select them according to past activity which reduces the amount of users gathered. We prefer to meet demand with what we have right now than to offer a percentage of them as a prize.

What about my privacy?
As always we will never show that you've won a prize because we do respect our user's privacy and security without exception. If you win a prize you can show it in our Forum (the "Your success stories" sub-forum is great for that) and, although we'd appreciate it because it would be a great motivation for other members, it's not required.

Does this interfere with the hourly draw of $0.50?
No, it does not. These are complementary prizes. We'll still give away $1440 in prizes everyday for seeing the regular advertisements and now we'll add approximately $1820 in prizes giving it a total of approximately $3260 in daily prizes with no limit on how many you can win.

Advertisment free credits:
  • Micro Exposure: 2x:
    You'll get what you purchased and the same amount to be viewed again in AdPrize.
  • Mini Exposure: 5x:
    You'll get what you purchased and 4 times more the same amount to be viewed again in AdPrize.
  • Standard Exposure: 10x:
    You'll get what you purchased and 9 times more the same amount to be viewed again in AdPrize.
  • Extended Exposure: 20x:
    You'll get what you purchased and 19 times more the same amount to be viewed again in AdPrize.
  • Fixed Advertisements: Varies:
    Your advertisement will get more views during the exposed period in AdPrize (for all purple fixed advertisements: from 10% to 85% of all AdPrize visualizations depending on the currently available advertisement's AdPrize credits).
A few guidelines:
  • All bonus credits will be shown in AdPrize for 5 seconds each regardless of the exposure purchased.
  • Demographically filtered advertisements will be shown unfiltered in AdPrize.
  • If you don't want your advertisement to be displayed using bonus credits in AdAlert you only need to deactivate that exposure in your advertisements settings page. You can define it individually for each advertisement.
  • Disabling an advertisement from being displayed won't remove unused bonus credits. Unused bonus credits will only be removed if the advertisement is deleted by you or due to inactivity.
  • Only advertisements that have been viewed in the past 7 days will be shown in AdPrize.
  • You'll have a comprehensive running total of credits available and used. Fixed advertisements will get credits even if no credits are available.
Does this means that as an advertiser I will get more clicks to my advertisement?
Yes, it does. You'll get from 2 times to 16 times of what you've purchased.
You can also look at it from the price perspective. The price per click will be approximately the same for every exposure. For example, if you purchase 1000 Standard Exposure Clicks for $16 the price per click will be $0.016 but, since you'll get 8 times what you've purchased, you get 8000 clicks (1000 Standard Exposure and 7000 for the AdPrize), the price per click will be just $0.002. When you compare that 10000 Micro Exposure clicks cost the same $16 you've spent, it's completely amazing yet still unbelievably fair.

What more benefits will my advertisement get?
Besides having more clicks / lower click price, you won't have to suffer the loss of benefits from having a unique exposure. A unique exposure is great for very specific campaigns and every marketer knows that most products and services are only effective when advertised over and over. A unique exposure gives you a "show and forget" campaign which is hardly effective. Now, having that unique exposure exponentially increased by repetitive exposures will increase advertisement campaigns to new heights. Basically you'll purchase a 24 hour unique exposure and get extra ones to make your campaign memorable and exponentially more successful.

Will banner exposure also benefit from this?
Absolutely! Not only the banners in the actual advertisement page will be shown more times than before but also the ones in the advertisement listing page will get all the required attention because the AdPrize button has been placed strategically besides it and below all the advertisements the user has to view. And no, we won't charge you a single cent more for banner exposure. Still the same low prices as always.

Current average:
Today's current rented referrals clicks / Total number of your rented referrals.

For example:

740 clicks / 2000 refs = 0.37 Current average


Projected average:
Is a calculation of what your average might be at the end of the day.

Current avg. * 1440 total minutes in a day / minutes past since (your local time's midnight).

For example:
Current avg. = 0.37
Current time = 11:45 = (60*11+45) = 705 minutes

0.37 * 1440 / 705 = 0.75 Projected average

As the day goes by the two averages current and projected will become the same at end of the 24 hour day.

p.s. If you recycle many ref after you check the graphics the projected average will actually go up because now you might have new refs clicking before the end of day.
